SWOT analysis in Self-Coaching
Everyone who works in corporate heard of SWOT and may even utilize this tool in business. (If you haven’t heard about it, just Google or ChatGPT it).
What is less common is to use SWOT for coaching or even self-coaching.
Let’s say (for the purpose of this exercise) you are using it for self-coaching (introspection + writing).
Draw the SWOT square and let’s do this.

SWOT analysis explained
1. Strengths (Internal, Positive).
First, let’s identify your strengths. To take action we must first have clarity on self-perception. What do you consider your internal, positive attributes or resources? What do you consider your strengths? Your skills, talents, experiences, and supportive relationships. Be specific.
Use the following questions:
- What are my unique skills or talents?
- What achievements am I proud of?
- What do others often praise or compliment me for?
- What positive feedback have I collected in my professional or personal life?
